Located in Southeast California and Western Arizona, the Desert Training Center was the World's largest training and maneuver area covering more than 31,800 square miles. Established in May of 1942 by the then Major General George S. Patton Jr. The Desert Training Center trained over one million troops over a two year period. Ten percent of all U.S. troops in W.W.II trained at the Desert Training Center. The Desert Training Center had hundreds of camps and airfields which included fourteen divisional camps which included an entire army made up of armor, infantry, engineers, medical, supply, and air support. Brigadier General Richard Pierce brings Major General George Patton to life in this historic docudrama about one of the most significant sites in the World War II history. Filmed on location at Camp Young and Camp Iron Mountain by award winning documentary filmmaker Paul Kiener in association with the First Composite Group.
